We are overwhelmed with sadness that our friend and colleague, Angie Duff, passed away on Monday 12th September 2011.
Angie worked tirelessly at the club for over 8 years. She first started as a parent helper but her enthusiasm and energy quickly lead her on to qualify as an excellent club coach. Over the years Angie has worked, at some time, with almost every member of West Lothian AGC offering fun and caring coaching to all.
But she offered so much more than just a coach. Angie was the ‘rock’- the person who was always there to help out with anything at all, from kit to payments and from first aid to fundraising. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was done with a smile and usually a laugh too.
Angie was mother to Neil and to Jaclyn and her support and encouragement for her children was unstinting. With Angie’s support, Jaclyn was selected into the Scottish National Squad and while still competing, is growing into an excellent young coach too.
Angie was very much a private person. Many people did not even know she was seriously ill. She never expected sympathy but she earned, many times over, respect, both for her strength of character and her dogged determination to get on with life and live every moment of it to the full.
We find it hard to imagine the club without her, and will miss her dreadfully.Angie, you will be forever in our hearts
